This pair of gorgeous portraits of Mr and Mrs William Anthony are painted by Gottfried Lindauer (1839-1926).
Lindauer was an emigrant to New Zealand from Bohemia and is highly regarded for his portrait work.
The pair are the artist's wife's sister and her husband and are done by painting with oil over a photographic base.
These artworks are part of the New Zealand & International Fine Art Auction on July 26th
